DOZ Issue 38 December 2018 | Page 3

Editor’s Letter Dear Ladies, It’s December! Merry Christmas! If you haven’t met your goals for the year, don’t panic! Take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the season. After all, it is the season to be jolly, is it not? Last month, I asked you all to come on a gratitude journey with me. The deal was to write daily in your journal five things for which you are grateful. I did say that gratitude is such a powerful tool as it can deliver the blessings we crave even as it increases our already existing blessings. So, did you come on this journey? If you did, I am certain that you have had some amazing experiences. I would like you to stay in that gratitude space even as the year draws to a close. If you haven’t started your gratitude journey well, what are you waiting for? Jump in right away. As you move around the shops buying gifts for loved ones, don’t just buy the gift but take time to think of each person and what their relationship to you means and be grateful for that. Think about those you may have fallen out with in the year and see if you can find something positive about them or your relationship with them for which you can be truly grateful. You know one easy way to forgive a person is to think of what the relationship had been like in the good days and be grateful for those good days. As you stay in that grateful place, you will discover that bitter thoughts about them are dissolved. Why don’t you try it? You are reading DOZ Issue 38, December 2018, and it contains all the inspiration you need to keep pursuing your dreams even on the days when you don’t feel up to it. Yes, we know about those days. Our DOZ That Inspire You, for this issue is, Philicia Baugh Pringle. She is an extraordinary woman, and it gives me tremendous pleasure to bring you her inspiring story in this issue. She had a baby in her teens but was determined not to become another statistic. Her determination drove her to return to school and study to doctoral level. Yes, you may refer to her as Dr. Pringle. I absolutely love her and admire her courage. Please read her story as it is a pointer to what we can achieve when our minds are made up and even when the odds are against us. I am certain that you will be inspired. “DOZ Chronicles: Ruki” continues in this issue. Is it all you hoped it would be? I look forward to seeing you in January, 2019. Enjoy Christmas! Blessings! 3 DOZ Magazine | December 2018
