of finely ground oats to a lukewarm bath. If you want to treat only your hands, you can dissolve 1 – 2 spoons of ground oats in a bowl of lukewarm water. Add a couple of drops of lavender essential oil and stir well. Soak your hands in the mixture for 10 – 15 minutes. Once done, apply a moisturizer. Do this once a day until the irritation subsides. Aloe Vera Gel Pure Aloe Vera gel is a miracle remedy for irritated hands. It has antibacterial, anti- fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. Aloe Vera enhances the skin’s healing process and reduces itchiness, redness, and inflammation. Aloe Vera gel soothes irritations, calms the skin, hydrates it and prevents it from drying out and cracking. Having your own plant is, of course, the best option. If not, try to find as pure organic Aloe Vera gel as possible. Apply it to clean, dry skin three times a day. Use it until the rash is completely gone. Soothing DIY Hand Cream This anti-inflammatory hand cream is amazing in nourishing hands and soothing itchiness and redness. It keeps your hands well-moisturized, helps the skin to heal and strengthens and restores the skin’s protective barrier. ½ cup shea butter ½ cup coconut oil 1 tablespoon honey 15 - 20 drops lavender essential oil 5 - 10 drops tea tree essential oil Melt the shea butter and coconut oil in a double boiler. Add the honey and remove from the heat. Add the essential oils and let the mixture cool down a bit, stirring occasionally. When the mixture starts to thicken, whip it with a hand mixer or a whisk until you get a consistency that you like. Transfer your hand cream to a clean glass container and use it at least twice a day. DOZ Magazine June 2018 29 «
