Editor’s Letter
Dear Ladies,
Welcome to the 5th month of the year! Welcome
to May!
I know I have said this before, but I will say it again,
this is my favourite month of the year. It is for me a
month of grace and a month of possibilities. When
I look back, so many defining moments in my life
have taken place in the month of May.
As I was preparing materials for this issue, I kept
thinking about fear and the impact it has on
the lives of so many people, believers and non-
believers alike, so I decided I’d share my thoughts.
As Christians, we quickly recognize the devil as the
enemy of our lives and destiny, and we daily wage
war against him. Interestingly though, we never
see fear in the same light. But fear is an enemy! It is
the enemy that many times stops us from fulfilling
destiny. Many are unable to do what God has called
them to do because they are afraid. Some have been
able to step out of the boat
like Peter, but then
halfway through they
take their eyes off
the Lord and begin
to look at the
c i rc u mst anc e s
and fear sets in
and they begin
to drown and
although
God
reaches out to
save them, many
times they are
unable to complete
their mission. Then
there are others who
are
on their assignment but
have become stagnated in that assignment because
they are too scared to take the step from where they
are to the next phase of the assignment. Many know
where they should be and what they should be
doing, but fear keeps them stuck in the place where
they should not be! Fear is evil and of the devil! We
are told that the phrase, fear not, appears 365 times
in the Bible, and I can understand why. Apparently,
we need a daily dose, if we are going to forge ahead.
I believe we need to wage war against fear with the
same intensity with which we wage war with the
devil.
This is DOZ Issue 31, May 2018, and it has several
inspirational articles to help you find and pursue
your God-given purpose.
Our DOZ That Inspire You, for this issue is, Betty
Parker. Now, she is a woman who understands
that fear is an enemy that must be fought and not
accommodated. Several years ago, when her son’s
life hung in the balance, she waged war against fear.
After her victory, she shared her story to inspire
others to do same. As you read my chat with her, be
inspired to rise above fear and move forward into
the promises of God for your life.
“DOZ Chronicles: Kemi” Is back in this issue. We
hope you have enjoyed it so far. The plan was to
conclude it in this issue, but unfortunately, this was
not possible, and we will now conclude the story in
the next issue.
I look forward to seeing you same time next month.
Blessings!
