EDITOR’S LETTER
Dear Ladies
Welcome, to the month of February! The New Year
party is long over, the Christmas décor has been
put away, and everyone has returned to work and
the pursuit of their goals. Some of us are eagerly
awaiting Valentine’s day, and daydreaming a little,
which is in order. Enjoy.
This is DOZ Issue 28, January 2018, and it is loaded
with inspiration and changes. If you are observant,
then you already know that this issue does not
contain the DOZman Inspiration column, and I
will share with you very quickly the reason for this.
Following the re-launch of DOZ Magazine in
September 2016, our males readers asked to be part
of this magazine, and it wasn’t surprising, the same
thing had happened during the first phase of DOZ
Magazine. So, in September 2017 we launched the
DOZman Inspiration column, and you will attest
to the fact that the column did feature some very
inspirational stories. And I want to use this medium
to thank all the wonderful men who permitted
us to share their story in the hopes of inspiring
others. However, we also experienced a lot of grief
with the column. For every man who granted an
interview, there were many others who turned
down interviews, failed to keep appointments,
meet our deadlines, and sent us photos which made
me think, are you serious? And the list goes on.
And so having carefully considered the good, and
the bad and the ugly, we have reached a decision
to remove the DOZman Inspiration column from
DOZ Magazine and return the magazine to what
it was originally meant to be, a women’s magazine.
In the coming months, the column will be replaced
with another, but I won’t let the cat out of the bag
just yet.
Our DOZ That Inspire You, for this issue is, Angela
Lewis-Wright. She is a woman with a very inspiring
story. At over sixty, Angela began a career as an
actress and a model. And this was after retirement.
Her story is a pointer to the fact that we are never
too old to pursue our dreams or to dream again or
start afresh. I hope her story inspires you to find
purpose and walk in it, despite your age.
“DOZ Chronicles: Lara,” has reached its climax
and will be completed in the next issue. We hope
you have enjoyed reading it.
