can make a lot of difference in whatever it is you do or are trusting God for. When you are excited about things, it shows in your actions and therefore, reflects in the results you get. True excitement isn’t dependent on the how. Rather, it stems from being focused on the why you do what you do. Open your eyes and take a good look at the future God’s promised you, then get to work on it with enthusiasm. Even when you don’t feel excited, act like you are and soon your actions will inspire that emotion. Beware of these two things that can steal your joy and enthusiasm from you: “Jesus said, ‘the food that keeps me going is that I do the will of the One Who sent me, finishing the work He started. … I’m telling you to open your eyes and take a good look at what’s right in front of you. These … fields are ripe. It’s harvest time!’” (John 4:34-35, MSG). • Angry about the past • Anxious for tomorrow Every morning, when you wake up, get your hopes up knowing that “this is the very day God acted, let’s celebrate and be festive!” (Psalm 118:24, MSG) Dress up like a woman who just won the lottery; be positive and upbeat when you talk about your life, relationship, health, career or business; don’t just be content with knowing that “God can do it”; take a step further and expect that He will do it for you.” Then, go about the day doing your very best, working with genuine zeal and goodwill. (Just like it is said of you): “first thing in the morning, she dresses for work, rolls up her sleeves, eager to get started. She senses the worth of her work, is in no hurry to call it quits for the day.” (Proverbs 31:17-18, MSG). DOZ Magazine August 2017 11 «
