THE GREAT DEBATE

OPTION 2:
Honeymoon Wish List
We had been saving and
saving for our wedding and
knew we wanted the most
amazing honeymoon to
relax after the big day and
revel in the fact we were
now Mr and Mrs. Whilst we
could afford to book the
honeymoon, there were lots
of extra “nice to haves” that
were pretty much out of our
budget, so we spent a while
investigating just how we
could ask for contributions
to our honeymoon so
people would know just
what they were gifting us.
After what seemed like
hours of hopeless web
surfing, I happened across
the website Buy-OurHoneymoon.com.

Mr H and I quickly
scanned the details, read
the small print and before you could say “Bob’s your uncle” we
promptly signed up for their services and never looked back! It
was exactly what we were looking for and the perfect antidote
to any mundane wedding registries out there! We were able to
set up our own personal account, customise our theme and then
our guests could pitch in for all of our honeymoon desires – from
upgrading our flights to champagne on arrival to a massage on
the beach – we were bought lots of lovely indulgent honeymoon
experiences from our guests.
OPTION 3: The anti-department store registry
The likes of Etsy.com, NotOnTheHighstreet.com and ZankYou.
com have really stepped up their game and know what couples
really love - personal, meaningful, stylish and unique gifts. They
now have their very own gift lists and registries available that you
lovelies can fully utilise. I also love that they help to support lots of
individual and niche suppliers under their brand too.
OPTION 4: Anything you could dream of!
Fancy a tattoo declaring your undying love for each other? A
new kitchen? Piano lessons, the shiny sports car you have always
dreamed of? When I got married, I never imagined that such a
wedding gift list utopia would exist but for you, my pretties, it’s
now a reality!
PatchworkPresent.com is really a fabulous idea if you know exactly
what you want and it’s not one of the obvious options! The creator
herself describes the service as a bit of a “whip around” and I
guess it’s just that. You want something – you can’t afford it – you
don’t want to ask for cash, so you tell people your heart’s desire
and they help make it happen! You could even include a picture of
that new kitchen when you send out your thank you cards!
