ADD A QUIRKY
TOUCH TO YOUR
WEDDING DAY
Written by Sophie Smith, of ‘Weddings by Sophie’
Do you want
to bring
together a
wedding theme that
is slightly different to
the norm? Well, I’m
going to show you
how you can
do just that!
One of the most popular requests from couples I
work with, is a ‘quirky, vintage wedding theme’.
Some couples really want their wedding day to be
remembered for all the fun and unique elements they
shared with their wedding guests.
Adding a quirky touch to your wedding also gives you
a chance to show off your personalities - with a little
less focus on the need to be traditional.

I want to share with you some of my favourite ways to
create that unique atmosphere on your wedding day
and embody your fun loving nature - without breaking
the bank!
1) Get creative with your attire.
Go on, be daring and pop on some statement wedding
shoes or perhaps an alternative wedding dress. Tea

outrageous, and are perfect for
v
vintage inspired weddings.
2) A taste sensation!
If you are venturing outdoors on a

of wellies to your outfits? They will

You don’t just have to think about

Some of my favourite ideas for the summer season are
bold lemonade stands with bunting and bright décor,
a tasty strawberries and cream stall, and the ever so
popular ice cream van (or tricycle!). I love watching
children and even older guests gather to get involved!
Not only do the guests love experiencing something
different, the addition of props can make for some
cracking shots. For weddings in the cooler season,
soup shots are great to add to your canapé selection,
and a hot chocolate bar, in my opinion, is a must!
