2. Create 2 Versions of the Song
Record it live and have a studio version. Now you have 2 versions of the song to monetize to sell. Make video's of both versions, and monetize the video (with Youtube or any other vidoe service that offer montezation). Make sure there is something differnt about the live version, that you don't hear in the studio version. Ad-lib, add another verse, change the beat, or incorporate a well known song into it.
3.Remix It
If you remix it with a guest DJ, or make an EDM version of the song. EDM may not be your style, but it's a growing in popularity. There are several night spots now that play EDM only, nowanddays. If you are a hip hop artist, you may want to try Trap EDM. The reason for this is EDM has a very wide audience worldwide. So you are not only going to just impress the people in your area with your versatility, but you could attract attention on a global scale. You can also remix it with another genre of music. This will give you that viral edge.

Really, these are things that you can do to push your song. You can simply release your song as a single, but that's not all. You can do so much more to broaden your fanbase, and fatten your pockets.
