seemed to be pulsing with energy,
sparking with excitement and—go
figure— hope. “Weird,” I said aloud.
Whatever was going on, I didn’t feel
afraid. More like comforted. I felt safe on
the ledge and that was somehow
inspiring. Returning to my painting, I
added a few whooshes of emerald green
to the crashing waves; then turned my
attention to tinting the cave’s icicles light
blue – and, oh, I think I see a sparkle. Sure
enough, the sun was peeking through a
cloud and the crystal icicles were catching
some rays. Hmm. That calls for a touch of
lavender and, if I may be so bold, a flash
of pink right there.
