I.Q., born Antonio Barnett was born and raised in Washington, D.C./PG County Md. He was always a prolific writer in school and started writing rhymes for fun in the 7th grade. After realizing his skill, he began freestyling with friends after school for enjoyment. At the age of 18, he felt as though music was something he wanted to pursue. He began going to the studio and recorded his first full mixtape "Coming 4 the Crown" but did not promote and push the records because he didn't have the means and network to do so. After being released from prison in 2014 after doing 3 years, I.Q. Linked up with his brother C-Los who started the label Street Loyalty Ent. with other artists and asked his little brother to join. Now fast forward 9 months, I.Q. has a full mixtape finished entiltled "Beautiful Struggle" hosted by FreeBand's Dj Dj Jo'Iyce and has been heavily promoting his single "$ Dance" which is being played by dj's in multiple clubs and have been featured on multiple mixtapes. I.Q. Is a force to be reckoned with musically, coming with wide ranging vocabulary, day to day mass population problems, in-depth storytelling, and good quality music overall. Be on the lookout for this bright young superstar in the making which may change your perspective on rap and hip hop culture in general.
