Photography Guidelines T he following guidelines will help you create professional-quality, high-resolution images that will increase readers’ interest in your story and present you and your professional life with the proper respect. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. • You are strongly encouraged to contract the services of a professional photographer. Only a professional has the training, experience and equipment to present you as the professional you are. • Share these guidelines with the photographer, so he or she is able to plan the shoot, efficiently, since you will probably be paying an hourly rate. • You may want to create an expanded list of photos you would like for other uses. Even if you must pay for additional time, it is still more efficient to have the photographer shoot extra images during one visit to your school. • Submitted photos should include individual professional portraits of the school owner and staff members. These images should be shot in a photographer’s studio with an appropriate backdrop or in a clean, clutter-free location at your school. • Other submitted photos could include classroom activities, your pro shop, spectator area and other views of your school that may be unique or special. The magazine’s readership is composed of professional and part-time school owners who are very interested in seeing the school layout of a successful owner. low these guidelines. • All photographs 1/2 page or smaller must be 1205 x 1800 pixels and 300 dpi. • All photographs full page to half-page must be 2592 x 3872 pixels and 300 dpi. • Please provide the RAW picture files or JPEG files directly from the camera, so the designer can match contrast and color to the printing specifications. • Descriptive information must be sent with each photo, so captions can be written.
