Lori Michaels has been involved in the “ dog world ” since 1983 . After earning national honors in the 4-H Dog program , becoming the first 4-H member to earn an NCDA agility title in the early ' 90 ' s and competing in AKC and UKC obedience trials , she focused her attention to training assistance dogs at Kansas Specialty Dog Service . As coordinator of the Service Dog program , she implemented new positive training protocols to help shape more highly skilled partners for people with disabilities . She was active on several committees of Assistance Dogs International setting the standards and ethics of placing assistance dogs . At the 2011 WAO she placed 3rd in the Individual Agility Pentathlon ( height 650 ). Last year she won the Games Championship and finished 3rd in Biathlon !
