Dogs In Review Magazine September 2016 | Page 67

Home at Limerick When my husband, Cliff, retired in 1997, we moved from a 7,500-squarefoot home on 6 acres in Woodside, Calif., to a 2,400-square-foot, 1-story, ranch-style home on 1 acre in San Martin, Calif. We hope to stay here forever. The 30-by-60-foot building (top photo) on the property was a huge plus. It is totally finished inside with cement floors and makes a wonderful partial kennel building, pool table area and storage area, and it has rotating roof fans that keep it cool in the warm weather. The dogs have access to it anytime they want. It is really the perfect place to have a few dogs and enjoy our retirement with the grandkids. The dogs mostly hang out under the covered area next to the pool, which 64  is right off our family room. The top photo shows the dog building and two separate dog yards as well as a 180-by-10-foot-wide outdoor run that’s permanently covered at one end. The bottom left photo is inside our humble home, which is full of dog memorabilia. The bottom right photo is looking out onto the pool and the dog area beyond. Hopefully this gives you a feel for how we live — casual but comfortable. The dogs just hang with us all day long. It’s wonderful. Our house/ lap dogs are a Whippet and a Cavalier, and Jamie keeps two Whippets at her home in San Francisco. DogsinReview.com 58x66_KennelVisit.indd 64 8/15/16 2:10 PM
