BY DAN SAYERS J The Durham Kennel Club’s annual Suit Swap provides junior handlers with clothing that is both fashionable and functional. unior handlers play a crucial role at American dog shows. As the youngest members of any team, juniors are expected to assist parents and professionals alike throughout the day with a variety of chores that include helping with the setup, exercising dogs and getting each charge ready for the ring at the appointed hour. These tasks require a strong back and thick skin, and adding to that pressure, young people who compete in Junior Showmanship are also expected to look the part.
