years , but he won his Ch . title at his fifth show , soon after his second birthday .
Another Pharaoh Hound won the FCI Group 5 , but a different one from the day before . This time it was the young bitch Vaskurs Gisela Harabo Qiwidotter , bred and owned by Jenny Hall of Sweden , who managed to beat Saturday ’ s Group winner in the breed ring . She was still shown in the junior class , so here we have a new up-and-coming star .
Another junior bitch was the Russian Beagle Ami Shegotlay Ultra Discovery , bred and owned by Diana Nenerova , who won the Scenthound Group . I don ’ t know much about this one , but a dog from the same breeder was BOS , so it was a great day for them . The best of the Pointing Gundogs was the Bourbonnais Pointer Int . Ch . Freckle du Rocher des Jastres , owned by Minna and Veli-Pekka Rasinpää . This French import is a Ch . of eight countries and has been World Winner twice . He is also qualified in the field trials , so he is a great ambassador for this rare breed . Winner of the Sighthound Group was a Saluki , Int . Ch . Aziz Karim , owned by Päivi Piili-Sinkkonen . He has been a big winner , bears Ch . titles from four countries and has won the Winner titles at the Helsinki shows for three consecutive years , which is quite something in this breed .
The best of all the beautiful oldies on the first day was the great Tibetan Terrier , almost 10 year old Int . Ch . Fabulous Teddy ’ s Daniel Wanderer , bred and owned by Tarja Salo . On Sunday he was second among the veterans , beaten only by the Lhasa Apso Int . Ch . Chic Choix Faith Hope Love , owned by Sanna Kopola-Hirsimäki and Karoliina Kallela , who had been third on Saturday . She is 8 years old , and her achievements include a US Ch . title . I believe she was part of Juha Kares ’ winning team of Chic Choix Lhasas , which won the breeders ’ groups final on Saturday . Their brightest star , famous Int . Ch .
Chic Choix Cleopatra Eurydice , is still continuing her brilliant career and was second in Group both days , just beaten by both BIS winners . On Sunday , the winning breeders ’ team consisted of four Samoyeds from Estonia , kennel Smiling Snowball , breeder Kristiine Uspenski . She has been Breeder of the Year several times in Estonia , and her dogs have done very well in other countries , too .
The puppy show finals were done separately in another hall , so I didn ’ t see them , but on both days Best in Show was the English Springer Spaniel Adamant ’ s Jubilee Let ’ s Twist Again , owned by Satu and Johanna Lehtinen and bred by Tarja Hovila , who received her Breeder of the Year award for the third time in the main hall on Sunday . This year is her 40th anniversary as a breeder , with promising new youngsters coming up all the time . This puppy represents the 10th generation of her own breeding . DIR
