D’office Threads have interviewed Darius on his taste and opinions of fashion. How has sport impacted Darius where style is concerned? When I started sport I used to wear only tracksuits and baggy clothes. Some clothes that I brought when I was 16 still fit me now as I used to buy it so big!As I’ve gotten older I have changed my style, I am still mostly in tracksuits and sportswear but when I get the chance my style is more fitted and smart, I even wear my top button done up! Does Darius have a different style in and out of media spot light? Not really, obviously I will dress up more when attending an event but more often than not I’ll be dressed fairly casual. Does he spend more on clothes now he is famous? The job I do allows me to earn the income to buy good quality clothes more often but I w ouldn’t say I spend more. What’s the most he has spent on an item of clothes? £550 Is an ethical brand important? I wouldn’t necessarily go in search of an ethical brand but if I knew people were being exploited to make clothes for a certain shop/designer then I would avoid shopping there. If he was left on a desert Island, what item of clothing would he have to keep? My boxers! Gotta protect my modesty at all times, even on a desert island! What is his favourite outfit? I love wearing a suit, it’s not often I get to dress smart and I always feel good when I do. Does Darius have a favourite Brand? Dolce and Gabana and Tom Ford What would he say influences consumers in buying an expensive item of clothes? As a man it’s quite difficult to look different and stand out subtly without it looking like you are trying too hard, there’s nothing worse than going out and seeing another guy in the same top as you! I tend to go for simplistic items that will last me and are of a really good quality so I can still wear it in years to come. I always say buy cheap, buy twice! Whose image inspires Darius? Idris Elba or Tine Tempa What does he feel doesn’t look good on a man? Skinny jeans - 61 -
