Why would you need to learn another way to tie a necktie when your half Windsor your father taught has gotten you this far. That box has been checked and now you have moved on to the Windsor knot, sometimes called a Full or Double Windsor. Ask yourself why do the minimum? You have worked hard to achieve where you are today and you owe it to yourself by respecting your accomplishments by taking pride in your image. The 100 Ways to Tie a Tie is for anyone who wants to learn how tie a tie, bow ties, ascots, pocket squares, and scarves and wants something new out of what they already have. The rest is up to you to build that new relationship for business or personal, but this is an easy way to create your own introduction. The scope of the project is to help men everywhere if either they are dressing up for an occasion or they dress for success daily, by being a centralized resource for man’s basic fashion needs and then push the limits with personality and creativity. The creator of the 100 Necktie Knot Project, Patrick Novotny has been schooled in television broadcasting, and has built a successful career in real estate sales after serving in the Canadian Military. An offer to host a television show fuelled his passion to create videos once again and as he wore Eldredge Knot, Trinity Knots, and Ediety Knots. People that saw him wear different necktie knots all asked how to tie them, which gave him the perfect content to provide and material to practice in front of the camera and post to YouTube to be judged. The TV show never aired, but the initial YouTube success inspired the idea to create at least 100 videos of different ways to tie ties and now has grown into ways to fold pocket squares, ways to tie scarves, and possibly another 100 more ways to tie a tie. Is it even possible to tie your necktie 100 different ways? In 1999 Mathematicians from Cambridge University Thomas Fink and Yong Mao’s authors of “the 85 ways to tie a tie” has a detailed description of the classic knots and their variations are all described given specific moves and including strict limitations all found in the origins of necktie knots. 100 Necktie Knot Project is not an exercise in illustration of all 85 ways given, but to include the classics due to their historical significance.
