DESIGN ATELIER
RETRO VIBES
Atelier drome’s modern commercial design skills are showcased from the Eastside to multiple neighborhoods of
Seattle. Founded by Michelle Linden and Henry Walters, they believe that a good design can improve lives with an
affordable, simple yet significant solutions catered to the owners' unique desires and needs. It was those beliefs that
made them fortunate enough to work with Gary Reynolds on his Capitol Hill bar, Revolver (1514 E Olive Way) that
won Bar/Lounge Design of the Year in the 2015 DList Magazine Seattle Design Awards. Reynolds wanted to create a
space that appealed to his mid-century sensibilities and “felt like your uncle’s basement.” Atelier drome delivered that
with retro vibes highlighting his immense record collection and objects from different years to reflect what it is like to
decorate your own space.

Most of the objects in the space are found,
including a pair of light fixtures that were found
on the same day at two different shops.
Wood beams add a natural element to the space
and appear as though they have always been
a part of the space, contributing to the retro
atmosphere that pairs perfectly with the music.
