INSIDER’S LOOK
AGRESTIC SIMPLICITY
Written by Lauren Adam Photos by Jorge Hernandez
Like listening to the annual Block Party on a rooftop in July or enjoying day drinks on your neighbor’s front porch, the cocktail program at King’s
Hardware sounds like summer and tastes like a refreshing herb infused breeze on ice. This laid back haven exudes a rustic, taxidermy charm,
but there is without a doubt a more hidden aspect of King’s, equivalent to a serene dip in a hidden mountain lake. Similar to its Seattle sister
spots, King’s has a bold personality that encourages indulgence in life’s simple pleasures like Skee Ball, booze infused Otter Pops and Monday’s
unlimited $0.27 wings.
Stepping though the cabin-esque bar and out to the light filled patio at King’s is like the moment the sun erupts from behind a cloud. Break
out the dresses, shorts, and sunglasses. Sit at a picnic table and ruminate in the energy and good vibes. Still in line with the thematic woodsy
ambiance, you won’t need to leave the city to be one with the relaxation affiliated with the great outdoors. If campgrounds were bars and racks
of PBR were cocktails, roughing it would be so much better. A quaint hide-away that you might not have noticed before, get to King’s early to
reserve your spot. The rest is simple: sit back, unwind, and have a cocktail.
