Please introduce yourself and the other members of the band, and what their spot is in the band.
Hey everyone, we're Edge Of Paradise, Margarita Monet- Vocals/keyboards, Dave Bates- Guitar player,
Nick Ericson- Bass, John Chominsky- Drums
How long have you guys been together?
At the end of 2010 Margarita and I had just finished working on some music for a producer in LA (which
is how we met) at that point we decided to put a band together. Edge of Paradise was born. We released our debut CD “Mask” in 2011.
What was the creative spark that pushed you to form the band?
I guess I just answered that? I’ll elaborate; when I met Margarita I had just finished working with Robin
McAuley in a band we had called “Bleed.” At that point I had a bunch of music left over- I noticed that
Margarita was a hard worker when it came to the music, and it seemed like a good fit. So off we went,
and the hard work never ends! It is a global business where the artist is responsible for the creative, the
manufacturing, marketing and distribution all in one.
How often are you guys able to get together and practice?
It depends what we are gearing up for. When recording music Margarita and I demo everything up on
the “home base” Pro tools set up, during this period we play 1 song for a month or more- re-arranging
and twisting it up until it’s deemed ready. Then the guys get it and add their parts. When we have live
dates, we get together as often as we can- but we all live an hour and a half from one-another and traffic
in LA is a pain in the ass! So a couple times a week. There is never enough time. When we met Nick we
had 4 shows booked in the Pacific North west, so he had a week to get ready- trial by fire!
