QUEBEC - FESTIVAL FEATURE Club Winter - First Edition A new festival devoted to extreme sports and electronic music is coming to Quebec this winter. Iceberg Festival will be hitting the shores of Pointe Calumet when it takes over the famous Beach Club Feb. 15-16, 2014. Beach Club has already gained recognition for their successful summer festival held on the edge of the lake water when the weather is a balmy 20 degree Celsius. This time, the organizers of the Beach Club are trying to recreate the experience with the temperature probably below zero. But we’re Canadians—we don’t mind braving the cold for quality music! Quebecers already know about the immense success of the Igloofest festival, which has been directed towards the electro, deep house and techno lovers for many years. The Iceberg festival promises the same icy melodic atmosphere but with significant differences. Iceberg starts at high noon, bringing this party into the daylight, and the predominant style of music will range from progressive house to trance. There will also be organized activities and extreme winter sports demonstrations, making it about more than just the music. Iceberg makes it fun to play in the cold, with tradition wintertime activities like maple syrup on snow, ski trails and extreme sports like snowboarding keeping everyone entertained. Jean-Louis Labrecque, who is also known under the alias ‘’Mr. Jean- Louis’’ when he hosts evenings at his clubs Beach Club or Penthouse on SaintLaurent Street, is also organizing Iceberg Festival. He let DJ Mag Canada know a new stage will be constructed for the event in a different location then the usual booth in the summer. The festival organizer and connoisseur of the electronic music scene and its constantly evolving spotlight says he has specially knitted this selection of artists to harmonize everything and give a unique experience to fans, something he says many festivals do not properly achieve. To keep people warm, 16 high-calibre DJ’s will be grilling the dance floor. Amongst others BEN GOLD, Arnej, MOGUAI, MARCO V, MAKJ, Domeno and FEHRPLAY & JEREMY and others will be present over the two day period.
