DivKid's Month Of Modular Issue #2 November 2015 | Page 6

After what feels like months if not over a year of people requesting more O’Tool oscilloscope modules from Dave Jones Design (no more will be made as the screens are no longer available but they are looking at a version two with a different screen) Mordax announce the DATA module which just blows everything else out of the water. It’s a multifunction power house of a module that features various measurements tools such as an oscilloscope, spectral display and tuner. It goes beyond that with signal generation including dual waveform

generators which are digital

oscillators and a clock source /

divider and multiplier. Importantly

it looks GORGEOUS! Head to

www.mordax.net to check out

more as the website and module

launched recently. The module is

available through a pre-order

system but a full run of modules

will be released and out with

distributors in spring.

It’s got a big flashing knob, what’s not to love! Warps from Mutable Instruments was released out of the blue (literally a day since saying it’s available and stores had them in stock). Although the module has been seen out with testers and details announced for sometime which is very unlike Mutable Instruments who like many companies don’t make so much public until nearer the release. I’ve had the pleasure of testing Warps for the majority of this year and I love it! It’s simple to use and packs in a lot of functionality even in it’s simplest mode the crossfader, you get both a crossfade and two VCAs for the level of each of the signals as well as a summed output unaffected by the functions of the mode you’re in. I've had the pleasure of having a few good conversations online with Joe Computo from Voltage Control Lab and he's got an excellent new video on Euclidean Rhythms (which I use a lot with the Pamela's Workout module from ALM) as well as a new video on FM kicks with the Roland Aira range.
