The coverage and comments / social media around Burning Man are definitely a mixed bag. I'm sure most of you have seen this by now but the sad news has hit that Don Buchla has passed away. There's lots of tributes online so I don't want to dwell on anything for too long but just wanted to say a few things. His memory and character will no doubt live on in those that worked with and met him. While I didn't meet him (and I won't pretend I knew him in anyway) he seemed to touch people and while known to be awkward he left his own mark on those around him. For all of us though his legacy in synthesis will no doubt live on with the huge influence over synthesis, sound and more specifically to us his developments within the modular realm. I highly recommend some internet searching into him, Buchla the company and their products to really get a grasp of what he brought to our world. RIP Don Buchla.
