DivKid's Month Of Modular Issue #1 October 2015 | Page 3

Unless you've buried your head

in the sand there's a good chance

you've heard of the new eurorack

compatible Moog 'Mother-32'. It's

bound to sell loads, and rightfully

so from what I've seen so far. I'm a

big fan of monosynths and self

contained units and instruments (as well as, and alongside my frankenstein modular system). It's a single oscillator monosynth with onboard sequencer and 32 patch points, meaning you can integrate this freely back and forth with eurorack gear. It will also fit inside a eurorack case, although for me it wouldn't be going in my case as it makes most sense to me with it's own power supply and sat in front of the case. It's certainly driven a few people a bit bonkers, digging at Moog for using FX in the demos videos (first video HERE and second HERE), which to be honest stinks a bit of people poking at a bigger company for getting involved with the scene.

Speaking of a bit of controversy and upheaval new company ERD have stirred up a bit of a social media storm with their new module. To quote the site "ERD (Earth Return Distortion) is the first and most extreme expression of the ERD philosophy, seeking to literally put the earth back into the circuit with technology." It's earth/soil in a module with the electrical signals running through it. Demos are HERE.

Another recent thing a lot of people will have no doubt seen is Joe Computo's new blog/website Voltage Control Lab. It's a great site with personally written posts that don't just regurgitate information and repost what everyone else is (very much what I'm aiming to do here). Most excitingly for modular fans Voltage Control Lab has teamed up with Sputnik Modular to give away a Selector module. All you have to do is follow Voltage Control Lab on Twitter and join the Sputnik Modular mailing list. Click HERE to head to the website with information about the giveaway.

To finish on a more personal note, I AM NOW WORKING WITH FUTURE MUSIC! I've been holding off on telling people for a while for no reason other than wanting content to be available as soon as I said anything. I’ll be providing an article and tutorial in each issue

and also a video to accompany that.
