Daniel Young

UCA of South Florida, Inc.

Daniel Young has been active in UCA of South Florida since 2008. He serves as General Counsel to UCA of South Florida and is on the Board of Directors of NUCA of Florida. He has also served on UCA of South Florida’s legislative, fishing and scholarship committees. In 2014, Daniel received the Gary D. Sawyer Award, presented annually by NUCA of Florida to an associate member who has

made a significant contribution on the local and/or state level to the industry and/or association.

Daniel is a lawyer who has focused his practice on construction law since 1999. He is a member of the inaugural class of lawyers who earned Board Certification in Construction Law by the Florida Bar in 2005. He has also earned an AV Preeminent Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating. In January 2015, he opened his own practice, the Law Office of Daniel Te Young, P.A.

He has extensive experience prosecuting and defending all manner of private and public construction disputes in federal court, state courts throughout Florida and before arbitration panels. In addition to being a member of the Florida Bar, he is admitted to practice in each federal and bankruptcy court in Florida, the United States Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Court of Federal Claims. He has represented contractors, subcontractors, sureties, design-builders, design professionals and owners. Daniel applies his construction litigation experience to effectively negotiate and draft construction contract documents.

Daniel was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. He met his wife, Laura, at Florida State, in 1988. They have been married 23 years,

and have three daughters: Madeline (14),

Gracie Li (9) and Lydia Rose (5). His hobbies

include playing tennis and piano, and camping

with his girls at Indian Princess.
