The 2017 Hurricane season
brought us several large
storms, including the
destructive Hurricane Irma.
Johnson-Davis Inc. was

awarded an emergency
contract on September 19,
2017, by the FDOT after this
catastrophic event. We
were tasked to perform
emergency repair of a
culvert in Martin County in
Indiantown. The roadway
is the major entrance to
both Indianwood Golf &
Country Club and 583
homes, just off SR-710 also
known as Beeline Highway.
The scope of work
consisted of removing
all rubble, dirt, asphalt,
and damaged roadway
that was washed away
on the canal as a result of
the storm; regrading the
canal banks; rebuilding
the 60 inch diameter CMP
pipe culvert with two new
mitered end sections;
rebuilding asphalt roadway;
and reinstalling guardrail,
sidewalk, and pedestrian
handrail.
All work needed to be
complete within 56
calendar days of our Notice
to Proceed under the
FDOT emergency contract,
which was funded in part
