to slow down during the economic downturn and nearing age 60 I thought maybe it was time to start thinking about retirement .... But I ran for office instead and it was the best move I could have made . I was elected to the Florida House in 2010 and then the Florida Senate in 2016 and haven ’ t looked back .
What is your educational background ? PASSIDOMO : I graduated cum laude from Trinity College ( now Trinity University ) in Washington DC in 1975 , and received my law degree from Stetson University College of Law in 1978 .
What are you currently reading ? PASSIDOMO : I am currently reading the bills that my colleagues are beginning to file ahead of the 2017 Legislative Session .
Grill master or reservations ? PASSIDOMO : Grill Master during the week . Reservations on weekends .
What is the secret to your success ? PASSIDOMO : From a very young age , I was taught that the key to success is working hard , giving back to your community and that the most important assets you will ever have are your reputation and your integrity . Those simple principles have led me well and guided all of my decisions over the years .
What is your favorite college or pro team ? PASSIDOMO : New York Yankees .
Campfire or fireplace ? PASSIDOMO : Campfire .
What was the first car you drove ? PASSIDOMO : Mercury Capri ( fondly called by my friends and family “ The Yellow Grasshopper ”).

What is your business philosophy ? PASSIDOMO : Work hard , play by the rules and give back to the community .

Do you have any pets ? PASSIDOMO : Yes . A yellow lab named Tucker .
