PERFORMANCE AWARDS NOMINEES Each year, NUCA of Florida Chapters from across the state nominate their brightest and best to be considered for the NUCA of Florida Performance Awards which recognize the most outstanding contractor member, associate member and Board member. A nominating committee reviews the applications and selects the most-deserving, top award winners for each category which are noted below in BLUE; however, all the nominees are “winners” to NUCA of Florida. Mitch Ellington Award This award will be presented to a Contractor Member or employee of a member whom has made a significant contribution, on the local or state level, to the industry and or the association. Contractor Nominees Marty Adams, General Manager, TB Landmark William Bocchino, Vice President of Operations, Vogel Brothers Building Company Clark Cryer, Estimator, Johnson-Davis Debra Mallard, President/Owner, V.A. Paving, Inc. Gary D. Sawyer Award This award will be presented to an Associate Member or employee of a member whom has made a significant contribution, on the local or state level, to the industry and or the association. Associate Nominees Beard Equipment Rick Bolinger, Sales, County Materials Chris Stewart, Branch Manager, Flygt, a Xylem Brand Andrew J. Mayts Award This award is presented annually to a NUCA of Florida Board Member whom has made a significant contribution on the local and or state level to the industry and or the association. Board Nominees Scott Johnson, President, Johnson-Davis Jon Woodall, Vice President, John Woody, Inc. Thomas Woodward, Senior Estimator, David Nelson Construction President’s Award & Golden Shovel Awards NUCA of North Florida Chapter was this year’s recipient of the President’s Award. President Jordan Lee acknowledged that the members of NUCA of North Florida had exceptional involvement and willing participation in the state association advocacy of legislative and regulatory issues, state-sponsored events and industry activities. Tom Woodward, Senior Estimator, David Nelson Construction received the Golden Shovel Award for his career-long dedication, decades of volunteer service and support to the underground utility industry.
