The MISD 2018 Teachers
of the Year are Shaye
Anne Atwood (Tarver-
Rendon Elementary) and
Reginal Wright (Mansfield
High). The teachers were
nominated by their
colleagues and selected by
a district committee.
NATIONAL MERIT
SCHOLARS
Six Mansfield ISD students
were named National
Merit Scholarship Finalists,
making them in the less
than 1 percent of high
school students to be
given the distinction based
on their Preliminary SAT
scores.
COUNSELORS CHOSEN
AS FINALISTS FOR
STATEWIDE AWARD
Three Mansfield ISD
school counselors were
finalists to be named the
best school counselor in
the state of Texas. Julia
Brown Rea (Mary Jo
Sheppard Elementary) was
a top five finalist. Jennifer
Douglas (Della Icenhower
Intermediate) and Tonya
Willis (Danny Jones Middle)
were semifinalists.

Texas by earning the All-
State musician distinction
from the Texas Music
Educators Association
