consistently been awarded
the highest recognitions for
its commitment to fiscal
integrity, responsibility and
transparency.
MISD received the
Certificate of Achievement
for Excellence in Financial
Reporting from the
Government Finance
Officers Association of
the United States and
Canada (GFOA) and the
Certificate of Excellence
in Financial Reporting
from the Association of
School Business Officials
International (ASBO). The
awards were given for
MISD’s comprehensive
annual financial report
(CAFR).
The district has also
received the highest grade
every year in the state’s
School Financial Integrity
Rating System of Texas
(FIRST), which ensures that
Texas public schools are
held accountable for the
quality of their financial
management practices.
