We would easily agree that food can be fashionable . Chefs prove it every day on the tables of trendy restaurants around the world . But what if some of the greatest fashion designers are asked to be inspired by food in their creations ? This is the theme of “ The Elegance of Food ”, an exhibition that ran from June 23rd to July 24th , 2016 at the Chelsea Market in New York . The exhibit celebrates the inspiration that food has on fashion and was organized by the Italian Trade Commission and Unindustria , a trade association that operates in the Italian region of Lazio .
If you missed it , just enjoy here the Gattinoni “ Bread Dress ” from the spring summer Haute Couture 2015 collection , with jute pants embroidered with glazed crackers and biscuits and the bustier elegantly sculped with weath leaves .
