The Fray

Colorado alternative rockers The Fray have given fans of Counting Crows and U2 a new generation of melodic rock anthems to call their own. With the release of their third studio album Scars & Stories in 2012, the band took an edgier approach to their songwriting, scoring hits with singles like “Heartbeat” and “Run for Your Life.” Despite more aggressive lyrical content, the piano-driven songs still found

a soft spot in fans’ hearts, earning the album a No. 4 position on the Billboard 200. If Scars was successful, the band’s self-titled sophomore album was even more so, debuting at No. 1 upon its 2009 release and earning the band a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album. Formed in the early 2000s by classmates from Denver’s Faith Christian Academy, The Fray’s 2005 debut How to Save a Life went double platinum, bringing them worldwide fame with the international success of its title track. On tour in 2013, the band has wowed ticket buyers with their impressive musicianship and emotionally genuine live concerts.
