SPIRITUALITY AND FAITH

“STEP UP” CEREMONY OF COMPLETION REMARKS

Presented by Pastor Philip Nissley,

Being successful often means learning from those who have already achieved their goals. Having a mentor is an amazing blessing to an entrepreneur, and that’s what you have been provided in this “STEP UP” program. I congratulate you on your completing this summer’s program! In the spirit of desiring to help your future, let me inspire you with these tips of success:

1. Challenge yourself.

Richard Branson says his biggest motivation for success is to keep challenging himself. He treats life like one long university education, where he can learn more every day. You can too! Because when one stops learning he or she stops succeeding!

2. Do work you care about.

There’s no doubt that running a business takes a lot of time. Steve Jobs noted that the only way to be satisfied in your life is to do work that you truly believe in.

3. Take risks and trust God!

We never know the outcome of our efforts unless we actually do it. Jeff Bezos said it helped to know that he wouldn’t regret failure, but he would regret not

trying. Some of the most successful people encourage us to read a Proverb everyday. The wisest man Solomon said in Prov. 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths successful and straight.”

4. Believe in yourself and live in HOPE.

As Henry Ford famously said, “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right.” Believe that you can succeed, and you’ll find ways through different obstacles. If you don’t, you’ll just find excuses. You were put here by God, so don’t you think He has answers when you have questions? HOPE in God!
