WHEN GOD WINKS AT YOU

Is It a Coincidence or One of God's Wonderful Miracles?

Always treat others like you want to be treated. This was a valuable life lesson I learned over 20 years ago. I am sharing this experience that changed my life forever, and I hope it offers encouragement.

About 21 years ago, I lived and worked in the southwest part of Detroit, Michigan. The area was heavily infested with heavy gang activity. Before you ask, let me answer your questions. No, I wasn't afraid because I had been raised in one of the worse parts of the city, where fear was not an option. Late one Sunday evening, I was driving home from visiting my daughter’s grandmother. I was pulling off the freeway onto the service drive of my exit.

Suddenly, I thought, “Did I leave my baby’s medicine in her grandma’s refrigerator?” So I put the car in park, left it running, popped the trunk where the diaper bag was, jumped out the car, and closed the door to check the diaper bag. I had the medicine. It was in the diaper bag. Just as I was closing the trunk, I was almost sure I had mistakenly locked my door. I pulled the car handle and I was right, it was locked. It was too late. My four-month old child was locked in the car. Franticly, I walked back-and-forth looking at her in my locked car. I didn't know what to do. A million questions ran through my mind.

Could I run home quickly to get help? Was she going to die from carbon dioxide poisoning? Most importantly, I thought there was no way that I could risk my daughter’s life and well- being by leaving her alone!!

I saw a young man sitting on the porch out the corner of eye, but my thoughts consumed me. All of a sudden, I noticed him walking toward me. He asked, “Do you need some help?”

With tears clouding my vision, I looked at him and said, “Yes!!”

He then asked, “Do you remember me?”

KINDNESS DOES GO FAR!
