How To Pray In The Desert

Being a follower of Christ does not guarantee an easy life; instead it offers a way to endure the difficult seasons that you will face and the way you should pray while in the deserts of life which reflects on how you will grow despite the difficulty. A desert is when faith is tested; sometimes in extreme ways -- terminal illness, depression, economies failing, persecution of the Church -- are just a few of countless examples. Regardless of His sovereignty, God has allowed a variety of destinations on the map of life that He has drawn for each of us individually.

You could be familiar with wandering in the desert. In my personal journey, I have walked circles amongst the dry land. I have spent countless sleepless nights praying to God focusing on only one word, “Why? Why would you allow this to happen?” In the deserts that I have walked, I have found that changing my prayer has fully changed my perspective in the dry land. Here are some prayer points and scripture that I encourage you to meditate on:

* What are You (God) teaching me while under these circumstances? Show me how to find joy in this season. A Scripture to mediate on would be James 1:2- 4.
