V. EXTEND FORGIVENESS TO THOSE WHO’VE HURT YOU
Unforgiveness is a deadly poison that kills one’s spirit and that’s why Heb. 12:15 warns of any root of bitterness springing up causes trouble and by it many are defiled." Unforgiveness tortures a person in spiritual darkness! 1 John 2:11 says "The one who hates his brother is in darkness” Stop blaming the person who wronged you, because it wasn't what they did that is keeping you in bondage, it’s your reactions to what was done that holds you in spiritual prison. Forgiving others welcomes the healing power of the Spirit in your life. Forgiving yourself is another vital step you must take seeking inner healing. You can overcome deep sensitivity, self-hate or anger about your past as you now see yourself for who you are “as a New Creation” in Christ. I want to become a NEW Person in You! I believe you shed your blood to overcome my past, so that I may have eternal life. I lay aside “my old self” with all its evil practices, inner hurts and painful memories and forgive those who’ve wronged me. I put on the “NEW self” and ask that you take full control of my life!
