you’ll lack motivation in the present. David believed God had called him and went to battle with Goliath believing his “Battle was the Lord’s”! Peter was courageous to step out of the boat when he saw Jesus walking on the water and because of that focused vision, he could walk on water too! Vision is the bridge between the present and the future and Prov. 29:18 says, “without a vision we perish”. Any successful endeavor requires a Vision or more importantly a Cause!
II. OUR CONSUMING CAUSE SHOULD BE FOUNDED ON WHY JESUS CAME FROM HEAVEN TO EARTH
The Saving of Souls was central to Jesus’ time on earth and it should be central to our use of time given us. Jesus left the splendors of Heaven and came to earth because of a CAUSE! Satan has come to kill, steal and destroy people’s lives, homes and destiny…but Jesus came to give life and help us extend life to others! Jesus said to Pilate in John 18:37, “For this Cause I have been born, and for this Cause I have come into the world.” Jesus came with a Cause that we, His Redeemed must become part of. Ask the homeless we pass by, the person addicted to drugs, the woman tired of selling her body, the teenager abused by his/her world. They know there’s got to be more to Life and are waiting to hear that Jesus is the solution, source and supply of life! With this in mind, we need to have a heavenly vision or Cause this year that will save and heal broken people, set bound people free and open doors for God’s Word! This year we must focus on…
Connecting with people who don’t know Jesus, is a command that we must obey! Evangelism is the only reason God leaves us here on Earth instead of taking us home to Heaven. We can worship and fellowship in Heaven, but evangelism can only be done here. Evangelism, missions, soul-winning, witnessing (however you word it)—is the WHY behind Everything we do! British evangelist Rico Tice says, “Loving people means warning people!” The words about Hell found in the Bible, straight from Jesus’ lips are a loving warning to us. The reason Jesus talked about Hell and then died for us is because He does not want people to go there! There is a great Cause that we must fulfill, for Psalm 107:2-3 says, “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—those He redeemed from the hand of the enemy!”
III. WE MUST THINK ABOUT WHAT WE DO AND HOW WE DO IT IN TERMS OF GOD’S EXTRAORDINARY CAUSE AND POWER
IN OUR LIVES
We need to stop playing church and instead become His Church deeply pursuing God’s CAUSE in Prayer! With how late the hour is, let’s call on God for an invasion of His Spirit that will make history leading up to His soon return! Jer. 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord…to give you a future and a hope!” We need to deeply pursue God’s CAUSE in prayer since Jesus said in John 15:5, “apart from Me you can do Nothing!” If we get ahold of God’s Cause and pursue His extraordinary power in our lives…the realities of tomorrow will be the dreams of today.
