RELIGIOUS STUDIES
RUSSIAN
Learning about religions means
students understand different
cultures and develop a more
global perspective. Knowledge
of the world’s religious traditions
is invaluable in a career that
requires familiarity with people
from other cultures and
backgrounds. Religious Studies
is the ideal major for those who
seek a career in nonprofits and
non-government organizations.
Religious Studies is the only
department at Michigan State
University to offer an official
concentration that prepares
students for a career in nonprofit
leadership.
Recent world events have only
reinforced the importance of
studying the language and
culture of Russia. Students
may study Russian language,
literature, and culture as part of
a multicultural education or as a
complement to a profession in
scientific research, government
service, international business,
or education. The undergraduate
program in Russian at Michigan
State University is designed
to help students develop
proficiency in the Russian
language, literature, and culture.
Most Russian majors study
abroad during their degree
program.
