HUMANITIES
PRE-LAW
INTERDISCIPLNARY
HUMANITIES
This interdisciplinary, liberal arts
pre-law major is particularly
appropriate for students who
plan to attend law school or
work in government or corporate
settings but also have an interest
in the humanities and arts.
Students work closely with their
academic advisor to design
a major with three core areas
drawn from disciplines both in
the College of Arts & Letters and
the wider University. Students
hone critical research, writing,
and presentation skills as they
focus on areas of particular
interest to them.
This major is one of the most
flexible liberal arts majors offered
at Michigan State University.
Students work closely with
their academic advisor to craft
a self-designed major based
on either a triad or area studies
model. Individual students have
used this major to develop
personal programs of study
related to particular cultures or
regions of the world, to focus
on specific time periods, or to
develop broad liberal arts skills
relevant to career objectives in
public relations, human services,
arts management, medicine,
international diplomacy, and
business.
