Strathcona Wilderness Centre
At the Strathcona Wilderness Centre visitors experience the
outdoors! This popular hiking and cross-country skiing spot
features 550 acres of natural serenity and 12 km of trails. These
trails wind their way through an aspen parkland forest to the shore
of Bennett Lake. Friends, families, schools and groups can camp
in tent campsites, sleep in eight person bunkhouses or stay in a
modern pine lodge. The Wilderness Centre is your four season
outdoor adventure centre. Enjoy disc golf, snowshoeing, wildlife
watching, orienteering, nature interpretation and more! Plan a
family day, book a company retreat, or organize a family reunion
at the Strathcona Wilderness Centre.

Miquelon Lake Provincial Park
Miquelon Lake provides many opportunities for nature-based
outdoor activities including camping, canoeing, beach activities,
hiking, bird watching, geocaching, snowshoeing and cross-
country skiing.

Trails and Natural Areas
New Biodiversity Trail Open in the Biosphere
The trail is 2.0 kilometres long with benches, lookout points and a
picnic area at the trail head. Interpretive signage to educate and
experience biodiversity, culture, the story of the land and the vision
of the Biosphere is scheduled to be installed in summer 2017.
The Beaver Hills Biodiversity Trail is located at 52521 Range
Road 211 in Strathcona County officially opened on September
9, 2016.

Golden Ranches
Take a long walk and marvel at a wide variety of wildlife on the
1,350 acre conservation area, located along the east shore of
Cooking Lake. Many bird species can be observed along the
8 km shoreline and a variety of wildlife including deer, moose,
and porcupine live in the adjacent aspen forest-open grassland
habitats.
Golden Ranches is located on Range Road 205 south of Wye
Road or access on Range Road 210, north of Highway 14.
