AN ALABA A MAKE M R Mobile’s Tastiest Best Kept Secret Since 1945, Hall’s Sausage has been a mainstay in the Mobile area food industry, selling wholesale meats and making its own brand of sausage and bologna from tried and true recipes that have not changed for decades. Started in 1945 by the first-generation American son of Lebanese and German immigrant parents, B E Namie began B E Namie Meats just as his father had started his general store – selling from a truck until he could afford a permanent facility. He sold wholesale meats to local grocery stores such as Delchamps and A&P from Monday through Wednesday and delivered on Thursday and Friday. It didn’t take long for him to get his own building, which is when he put his German heritage to work making those delicious sausages, red hots and bologna. When he decided to retire, Mr. Namie sold the business to Donald Hall, a district manager with National Foods. Mr. Hall loved the business and continued with those same recipes and many of the same customers until he retired at the age of 85. Now owned by its third family – the Hodges - Hall-Namie Packing Company continues to produce Hall’s Sausage using the same recipes developed generations ago. Crafted in small batches from lean pork mixed with the finest quality of spices and smoked slowly, Hall’s Sausage is a truly authentic Southern smoked sausage.
