The Women Business Owners Corporation has undertaken the National Certification Program as a public
service for corporations, government agencies, and women business owners. NWBOC seeks to increase the
ability of women business owners to compete for corporate and government contracts while at the same
time decreasing the number of front operations participating in corporate and government outreach programs.
The NWBOC National Certification Program Standards and Procedures have been promulgated for use by

The verification process entails the thorough review of the completed Application Package with necessary
supporting documents demonstrating evidence of ethnic and gender status as well as ownership, management and control. Any woman, minority, business enterprise which performs a service or produces a product
used by the utility companies is encouraged to apply.

SECTION 12
A business enterprise that is at least 51% owned by one or more minority
individuals, and whose management and daily operations are controlled by
one or more minority individuals. Recognized minorities include Asian
Americans, African Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native Americans
