he Baltimore Ravens organization
helped lay to rest one of their own on
Saturday as players, coaches, and staff
members joined the family and friends
of Tray Walker for his funeral in Florida. Walker,
23, died March 18 after suffering critical
injuries when he collided with a Ford sport
utility vehicle the day before near Miami.
Walker’s family had his casket custom made
with the exterior decorated with his team
number and helmet, and the interior was
Louis Vuitton lined. According to the Miami
Herald, during Walker’s funeral at 93rd Street
Community Baptist Church, the team’s head
coach John Harbaugh was one of several
people who eulogized Walker.
Walker, who grew up in Miami, appeared in eight games for the Ravens, mostly on special teams, during
his rookie campaign last season

alker was a 2015 fourthround draft pick out of Texas
Southern University. “On behalf
of all the Ravens that are here
I just want to say first of all, we love Tray
Walker” Harbaugh said. ‘We just got to know
Tray Walker one year ago. And we found
out what a good-hearted, hard-working,
determined, really sweet young man that
he was.” He shared a few heartwarming
and fond memories of the brief time he
had coaching Walker, who told him that
his primary goal was to take care of his
mother. “Tray Walker, we love you, and we’re
going to miss you,’ Harbaugh said.
