T
he annual United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) was held in New
York from 25th September to 1st October. 193 nations of the UNGA,
the main deliberate body of the UN, imparted concerns relevant to their
respective countries and the trust they had in the UNGA for the upcoming
years. UNGA formulates resolutions on signifi cant questions relating to peace
and security. This is undeniably an occasion for the Global Power - the US;
the Global Body - the UN; and other nation-states, big or small, to have a
say on international, political and security issues of their concern. The theme
of the 73rd UNGA was “Making the United Nations relevant to all people:
Global Leadership and Shared Responsibilities for Peaceful, Equitable and
Sustainable Societies.”
