I am happy to learn that the Diplomatist magazine is bringing out this special edition covering various
aspects of bilateral relations between India and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The growing engagements
between our two friendly countries certainly need special focus.
India and Saudi Arabia enjoy cordial relations refl ecting centuries old economic and socio-cultural
ties. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties, the two countries have been engaged at the highest
levels, raising the bilateral relations to the ‘strategic partnership’ and enhancing cooperation, inter alia,
in political, economic and security realms.
The visit by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to Riyadh in April 2016 is seen as a turning
point in our growing engagements with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which has further augmented our
existing multi-faceted bilateral relations.
I wish the team of Diplomatist magazine every success in this endeavour.
