VISIT OF FEDERAL COUNCILLOR AND HEAD OF FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF SWITZERLAND
Mr Ignazio Cassis , Swiss Foreign Minister ( Head of
Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation ) accompanied by senior officials of his Ministry , visited India from 08-12 August 2018 . The visit of Minister Cassis is part of the regular exchange between the two countries . India and Switzerland have a strong relationship based on shared values of democracy and rule of law . Over the years , economic ties have become multifaceted with annual bilateral trade reaching around USD 20 billion last financial year .

Minister for Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova visited India from 11-15 August 2018 . This is a historic visit as it is the first time that a Foreign Minister of Moldova has visited India . During the visit , Minister Ulianovschi had a meeting with External Affairs Minister , Smt Sushma Swaraj , in New Delhi on 14 August . Acknowledging good potential for growth , the two Ministers exchanged ideas for reinvigorating bilateral trade and investment ties . EAM welcomed the decision of the Government of Moldova to open their Embassy in New Delhi .
