agreement was signed, to ink another agreement with Indian space agency ISRO to enhance cooperation in the fi eld of space research to facilitate the development of the indigenous space programmes of both countries. As per this agreement, both countries agreed to cooperate in the following areas: 1. Remote sensing of Earth, Space Meteorology and Disaster Management; 2. Satellite communications and navigational systems; 3. Space science and exploration; and 4. Capacity building in space science, technology and applications. The centre, which provides career opportunities for women in the region, has become a rich training ground for building new capabilities and careers for women in the country. Initially established to serve Saudi Aramco and GE as anchor clients, the TCS All Women Centre has now expanded to serve other institutions in the Kingdom as well as global clients. While engaging with female professionals at the centre, PM Modi said, “It was wonderful interacting with all these talented women IT professionals who represent the glory of Saudi Arabia. The energetic atmosphere that I witnessed here today sends a strong message to the rest of the world. I congratulate TCS for their efforts in training talent in India and globally, and making tomorrow’s professionals equipped for the digital world.” The Centre also works with leading Saudi universities and educational institutes to build specialized training programs which help drive job creation and employment opportunities for women in the Kingdom. Indian company TCS and GE founded the TCS All-Women Centre as a pioneering initiative in 2013 with 76 percent and 24 percent equity in the new venture, respectively. TCS established the first all-women technology services centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2013 with a business model unique to the region. Today, it has scaled to constitute over 1,000 women and consists of 85 percent Saudi women professionals who provide Business Process and IT services to global clients. The TCS All-Women Centre provides specialised finance and accounting, human resources, materials supply and IT services.
