External Affairs Minister Smt. Sushma Swaraj meets Dr. Mamandou
Tangara, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of
Gambia in New Delhi (March 07, 2019)
.E. Dr. Mamadou Tangara, The Gambian Minister
of Foreign Aff airs, International Cooperation and
Gambians Abroad accompanied by senior offi cials of his
Ministry visited India from 7-12 March, 2019. Dr. Tangara
had a meeting with External Aff airs Minister, Sushma
Swaraj, in New Delhi on 7 March 2019. Dr. Tangara and
EAM Swaraj held cordial discussions on various aspects
of bilateral ties, particularly developmental assistance and
capacity building programmes. Both the Ministers also
discussed important regional and multilateral issues of
mutual interest. The meeting was followed by the signing
of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Foreign
Service Institute, Ministry of External Affairs, New
Delhi and the Ministry of Foreign Aff airs, International
Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, Republic of The
Gambia.

AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE OF THE REPUBLIC OF KENYA

he Second Joint Commission Meeting
(JCM) between the Republic of India and
the Republic of Kenya was held on 6th March
2019 in New Delhi. The Indian delegation was
led by Sushma Swaraj, Hon’ble External Aff airs
Minister of India and the Kenyan delegation was
led by the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Aff airs,
Republic of Kenya, and H.E. Ambassador
Monica Juma. JCM was preceded by Senior
Offi cials’ Meeting (SOM) on 5th March 2019.
The JCM enabled a comprehensive review
of the bilateral relationship between India
and Kenya and also detailed discussions on
further strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
The discussions focused on building closer
cooperation in areas of defence and security,
Lines of Credit, capacity building, trade and
investment, cultural exchanges and enhancing
people to people contact.
