COVERAGE 4 th TILA INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ENERGY 2019 “Energy Revolution in India” - The way forward T he 4th TILA International Energy Conference was organised by Dr. Gopal Energy Foundation (DGEF) at New Delhi on 15th April. The conference was inaugurated by H.E. Upendra Tripathi, Director General, International Solar Alliance. Honourable Chief Guest released the “Right to Energy Declaration.” He also launched TICE achievers Award 2020 for institutions/individuals who contribute to accelerating the pace of energy revolution through various innovative means. The dignitaries on the dais included J N Swain, Managing Director, SECI; Mr. Pawan Singh, Managing Director, PTC; Mr. K.S. Popli, Chairman & Managing Director, IREDA, Mrs. Anjuli Chandra, PSERB, Mr. Ramesh Chaudhry, BERC. DGEF is a premiere non-profi t organisation founded on 15th April, 2015 with its corporate offi ce New Delhi working to achieve the goal of Energy for all. The organisation aims at enabling energy revolution by serving the international community in the disciplines of Power, Petroleum, Gas, Coal, Nuclear and Renewable Energy sector, with the motto “Energy for All.” The conference started with an open house multilateral dialogue on the need for energy revolution between the representatives of various countries like, Nigeria, South Korea, Cameroon, Canada, etc. Some distinguished guests from Solar Alliance, Electricity Regulatory Commission, CMD’s/ Directors of PSU’s and energy funding agencies, fi nancial corporations also participated, besides delegates from diff erent institutions, all across the globe. While welcoming the dignitaries Sh. Raj Singh Niranjan, Energy Law Expert & Managing Partner of TILA and Convener of the Conference (TICE 4), said that the objective of the conference is to bring about “Energy Revolution” by bringing in all the stakeholders on a single platform to discuss the existing government initiatives, policies, innovative ideas, suggest potential measures for wholesome implementation of government objectives in India (Urja Kranti) to remove the course of energy poverty in India. The delegates and energy experts from across the globe resolved to celebrate 15th April as “Right to Energy Day” every year. Keeping in view the above, the 5th TILA International Conference on Energy 2020 will be convened on 15th April 2020 at New Delhi.
