Belty Budgee Robot If you’re fashion conscious, look away… if you’re weight conscious, keep on reading. French company Emiota has created a motorised belt that adjusts to your body when you sit down and extends as your belly expands at all-you-can-eat buffets. It can even track your waistline and measure your activity. Alongside the tiny motors there’s an accelerometer and a gyroscope. (The cynics among you may argue that a standard belt is already pretty good at telling you when you’re getting fat). Carrying bags around a shopping centre can get very annoying on a big shopping spree. Wouldn’t it be great if a robot could do it for you? Yep, you’ve guessed it, an app controlled robot servant designed to carry your bags is here. It can avoid obstacles and can carry up to 50lbs and move at four miles per hour. And if you want it to be your very own designer baby, customise its eye colour and voice. Price: tbc Price: ££ Salt Card Klenzi The average user checks their phone 150 times a day. That’s 150 password entries! For anyone who wants the security but without this hassle, Salt’s keyless entry card is the answer. It unlocks your device when you are within 10- feet. Walk away and your phone locks as usual. It’s the size and shape of a credit card so just put it in your wallet! When you’re on the go without access to showers, it can be quite a nightmare. However Klenzi think they have found the answer. Without running water, Klenzi has interchangeable heads for body, face and hair that cleans you with water and detergents, which it then reabsorbs. Perfect for long flights and remote travelling! But we wouldn’t advise dropping showers altogether! Simply leave your phone to charge on a bed side table, lamp or one of their small charging pads! No more searching round the house for the charger, no more wires sticking out of sockets. Simple, handy and cheap! Price: £ BauBax It may look like an ordinary jacket, but this one contains an impressive number of features, all included to make your life easier. It has pockets galore for all your personal items, from keys, phones, wallets and tablets. Our personal favourite is a built-in inflatable neck pillow and eye mask. Plus the drinks pocket is a lifesaver when the airplane fold-down table is ruining your much needed leg space. Practical AND stylish! Price: £ Stower Candle Charger Touch Base ‘10% battery remaining’ is something all modern people fear. These days though, there are plenty of solutions trying to stop that from happening, but we think this one is top for ingenuity and eco-friendliness! It’s a candle that heats and purifies a pot of water, which serves as a thermoelectric to produce power to charge your phone. Simple, clean and quirky. Business cards haven’t ever really been given a tech makeover – until now. Touch Base is a new product that stores the information, quick and easy. By tapping the card against a smartphone, the cardholder’s digital profile is transferred to the recipient’s mobile in seconds. The card can transfer more information than is printed on it, such as your social media details or examples of work you’ve produced. Price: £ Price: tbc CIO Magazine Autumn 2015 Issue 5
